Joel Grimes is one of my favorite photographers. Here he is demonstrating how to create the classic “Rembrandt” style of light (examples here) on your subject. This is one of those styles that looks great on certain people, but not on others. Still, it’s an important style to master, and for a long time was standard practice for aspiring photographers to learn. When it works it really works well, and Joel does a great job of demonstrating how to achieve it here. Enjoy!
